Overview
The Mobi Lightbook by fx-lighting is a high-performance battery-powered LED wall washer designed for lighting professionals who require full mobility without sacrificing output quality. Despite its compact 219 mm form factor, the fixture delivers a 5-metre wall coverage width, driven by six 4-in-1 RGBW LEDs at 10 W each. The housing combines extruded aluminium with a die-cast aluminium cover — lightweight, rigid, and built for demanding live environments.
The integrated 11.1 V / 9 Ah lithium-ion battery reaches a full charge in 3.5 hours and sustains up to 5 hours of operation at full 24 W output. In auto mode, runtime extends to 30 hours, making the Mobi Lightbook equally suited for permanent architectural installations and temporary event setups.
Optics
The Mobi Lightbook ships with a standard 12° lens, producing a tight, well-defined beam. Optional lenses — 20°, 30°, and 45° — are available to adapt the fixture to different throw distances and wall widths. A magnetic frost filter is also available as an option, converting the narrow beam into a soft, even wash. Electronic dimming operates across the full 0–100% range without colour shift.
For white light applications, the fixture provides 11 preset colour temperatures ranging from 3,000 K to 10,000 K, covering the full spectrum from warm tungsten to daylight.
Control & Operating Modes
The Mobi Lightbook supports all standard control protocols used in professional production environments:
DMX 512 — Six channel configurations are available: 2, 5, 8, 11, or 15 channels, plus an HSV mode. RDM is supported for remote device management. DMX address is set via the onboard menu (001–512). On signal loss, the fixture can be configured to hold its last state (DMX Hold) or black out (Blackout).
Wireless DMX — A wireless DMX module compliant with the Swedish standard is built in. Each unit can operate as either a transmitter or receiver, eliminating the need for additional wireless hardware.
Master / Slave — One fixture is designated as master; all units set to slave mode follow its programme in real time. No DMX console is required for synchronised multi-fixture operation.
Auto Mode — Ten internal programmes with adjustable speed (1–31) run independently from any external controller. Maximum runtime in auto mode reaches 30 hours.
Manual Mode — Individual RGBW channel levels (0–255), 55 static colour presets, and strobe speed (0–20 flashes per second) are adjustable directly from the front panel or IR remote.
IR Remote Control — Included in the box. Provides direct access to all operating modes, colour channels, programme selection, strobe, and speed without navigating the onboard menu.

Mounting & Safety
The Mobi Lightbook operates in two mounting positions: inverted suspension from a truss or ceiling, and flat placement on a level surface. Side mounting is not permitted. The mounting structure must support a minimum of ten times the fixture’s weight without deformation. A safety cable — attached through the dedicated anchor points — is mandatory for all overhead installations. Maintain a minimum clearance of 0.5 m from any flammable materials. Annual inspection of all installation hardware by a qualified technician is required.
DMX cabling note. Use standard XLR 3-pin cabling (male output to female input). When connecting to a 5-pin DMX source, use a 5-pin to 3-pin adapter. Do not connect the cable shield to the ground lug of the XLR connector — doing so creates a ground loop and may cause erratic fixture behaviour. Verify all cables with an ohm meter before use.
